Treabar’s 6.0 update will strengthen some of the older characters, with players cheering for Aetheria’s benefit.

Ladies and gentlemen, our new journey is about to begin. According to the latest news, Genshin Impact will introduce a reinforcement plan for old characters in the upcoming 6.0 major version. The 5.8 preview livestream on the 18th will reveal some details ahead of time. Indeed, some old characters need to be reinforced, such as Yuna, Aether, Xie Gong, Sen, and Lin Huahua, who are considered ‘locked’ characters. While some of these old characters can still勉强survive in dungeons, most are lacking in playability. Even with further reinforcement, it won’t significantly impact the sales of new cards.
In fact, Genshin Impact has always been aware of the importance of balance. Neighboring games like Blazing Iron and Zero: The Last Defender have already conducted experiments. If Genshin Impact maintains the same pace as the past two years, I would hope they don’t reinforce old characters. However, since the Natura version launched, the difficulty of the dungeons has expanded to an extreme degree. In 5.0, the dungeon difficulty was only 2.99 million, but by 5.6 it had skyrocketed to 5.21 million, causing a significant increase in difficulty.
If old characters are reinforced, they can still sell well, as there is a sense of nostalgia and many have low character levels. If not only the main character but also characters with one or two star boosts are significantly enhanced, many players are willing to spend gold. Strengthening these old characters won’t affect new characters and can also help kitchen players get star boosts to improve revenue. From both the perspective of the planners and players, this approach seems more advantageous.
If we need to reinforce old characters, resident characters will not be considered. It is predicted that the first batch of candidates will include Aether, Xie Gong, and Xiao Baobao. Especially Aether, he was originally designed to be the weakest five-star character, and with the overall strength expansion, he seems even less valuable. Therefore, it is likely that Aether will be the first batch of characters to be reinforced. However, these characters were designed well in the first place, just lacking in numbers, so the reinforcement process will be relatively easier.
If we really need to reinforce old characters, the storyline must also be adjusted. After all, selling clothes requires a storyline. However, if we strengthen these locked characters in the 6.0 version, the rhythm might become very tense. What are your thoughts on this reinforcement plan? If there are any latest updates, I will share them with you immediately. Interested players can keep an eye on this for the latest information!
